It is known that the increasing tension in the current international security environment, as well as ongoing armed conflicts in various regions, including Ukraine and the Middle East, remain a serious threat to international peace and security.
Medianews.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
"Unfortunately, cases have been recorded where Azerbaijani citizens in such areas have died or suffered various degrees of bodily harm as a result of armed clashes and military operations.
Such incidents once again demonstrate that the security risks in conflict zones and nearby territories are extremely high, posing serious threats to the lives and health of our citizens who travel to or operate in those regions.
In this context, we once again call on our citizens to carefully assess the security situation before traveling to foreign countries, take into account the warnings and recommendations of official state institutions, and avoid traveling to areas where conflicts and military operations are underway.
At the same time, we once again draw attention to the fact that any participation by citizens on a mercenary or voluntary basis in armed conflicts and military operations on the territory of foreign states entails criminal liability in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation.
The diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan continue their activities to protect the rights and interests of our citizens abroad.
Moreover, it is of particular importance that every citizen approaches their own safety responsibly and refrains from high-risk activities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to closely monitor developments related to the international situation," the statement emphasized.
