In the first quarter of this year (January-February-March), the population in Azerbaijan spent an average of 2.35 manats per capita per month on alcoholic beverages.
Medianews.az citing Yeniavaz.com reports that this indicator increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.
It should be noted that the most money on alcoholic beverages was spent in the Gazakh-Tovuz economic region. Residents of this economic region spent an average of 3.9 manats per capita per month on alcohol. The least amount of money spent on alcohol was by those living in the Lankaran-Astara economic region – an average of 1.4 manats per capita per month.
The amount spent per capita per month on alcoholic beverages by economic regions was as follows:
Baku – 2.5 manats;
Absheron-Khizi – 2.5 manats;
Mountain Shirvan – 1.6 manats;
Ganja-Dashkasan – 2.5 manats;
Karabakh – 2.4 manats;
Gazakh-Tovuz – 3.9 manats;
Guba-Khachmaz – 2 manats;
Lankaran-Astara – 1.4 manats;
Central Aran – 2.5 manats;
Mile-Mugan – 2.2 manats;
Nakhchivan – 2.4 manats;
Sheki-Zagatala – 2.6 manats;
Eastern Zangazur – 2.2 manats;
Shirvan-Salyan – 1.5 manats.
