The court trial has begun in the criminal case of Zulfiqar Mansurov, Deputy Head of the Department for the Management and Effective Use of State Property of the State Property Issues Service, who was detained during an operation conducted by the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office at the Karadag District Executive Authority.
Medianews.az reports that in the preparatory hearing held at the Nizami District Court under the chairmanship of Judge Emin Akhundov, personal data was verified.
A decision was made to refer the criminal case to trial.
The trial hearing was scheduled for June 23.
Recall that Zulfiqar Mansurov filed an appeal regarding the pre-trial detention measure chosen against him. The court annulled his pre-trial detention, and he was released from custody.
It should be noted that in November of last year, during an operation conducted by the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office at the Karadag District Executive Authority, the Deputy Head of the Karadag District Executive Authority Nadir Muradov, the Chief Advisor of the District Agriculture Department Qafar Abdullayev, and Deputy Head of the Department for the Management and Effective Use of State Property of the State Property Issues Service Zulfiqar Mansurov were detained, and pre-trial detention measures were chosen against them by the Binagadi District Court’s decision. Their detention periods were extended again in February of this year.
The criminal case against the other accused persons is being heard at the Karadag District Court.
The accused are charged under Articles 311.3.1 (bribery – when committed by a group of persons acting in collusion or an organized group), 311.3.2 (bribery – when committed repeatedly), and 311.3.3 (accepting a large bribe) of the Criminal Code. (apa)
