With only a few days remaining until the beginning of the month of Muharram, a significant increase is observed in the number of wedding ceremonies in the country. As every year, many families and couples prefer to hold wedding ceremonies before the month of Muharram this year as well. As a result, congestion has formed in wedding halls, restaurants, and event venues.
In Azerbaijan, according to a tradition formed over many years, it is considered inappropriate to hold weddings and other lavish celebrations during that period. For this reason, families plan wedding dates either before or after the month of Muharram.
Medianews.az reports that according to information provided to Milli.Az by individuals working in the wedding sector, the number of orders has significantly increased in recent weeks.
The increase in the number of weddings positively affects not only the wedding halls but also photography and videography, music services, car rentals, flower salons, and other related fields. Certain price increases in these services may also be observed during this period.
The revival in the wedding market is also economically noteworthy. The average cost of a wedding ceremony can vary from several thousand manats to tens of thousands of manats depending on the venue, number of guests, and services. Therefore, the wedding season is considered a lucrative period for many service sectors.
Observations show that as the month of Muharram approaches, the number of wedding ceremonies further increases, and in recent days, wedding halls are operating almost at full capacity.
It should be noted that this year, the month of Muharram will begin in Azerbaijan on June 16.
