The year 2025 has been remembered as a year of price increases in the markets. Especially meat, which is the main product on the tables, is among the food items that have become the most expensive. However, the price increase is not limited to meat alone: a rise in the prices of onions and potatoes, which are considered daily necessities, is also observed. Experts cite the increase in production and logistics costs as the main reasons for the price hikes.
According to experts, prices are expected to rise even more ahead of the holidays. It is anticipated that the wave of price increases will continue into 2026 as well.
Buyers express their dissatisfaction with the current price increases:
"Since I do sports, I need to consume plenty of protein and vegetables. Although the price of vegetables has relatively increased, the prices of protein, eggs, meat, and fish have increased excessively."
Another resident emphasizes the difficulty of making a living:
"Everything is very expensive. I spend much more money on products. There is a serious increase not only in meat and oil but also in other household goods."
The observations of the buyers align with the official statistics. According to data from the State Statistics Committee, in November, the price of food products increased by 0.4% compared to October.
