“I urge the European Union (EU) leaders to urgently make a decision regarding the financing of Ukraine, otherwise the region faces great danger.”
“Qafqazinfo” reports that this was said by Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the European Union Summit to be held on December 18, Tusk noted that the delay in deciding on financial aid could lead to an escalation of military operations and new tragedies.
“Right now, we have a simple choice before us: either we provide the money today, or there will be bloodshed tomorrow. Here, I refer not only to Ukraine but to the whole of Europe. Only European leaders can make this responsible decision, and they must already demonstrate the necessary will,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Recall that EU diplomats have reached a preliminary agreement on providing income from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine as a “compensation credit” in 2026-2027. However, the final word on this matter will be said by heads of state within the framework of the Summit.
Additionally, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also stated that this summit meeting should finalize the financing options for Ukraine.
