Ruslan Eyyubov, the owner of the Baku-Hovsan International Trade Sea Port, Rashad Dashdemirov, the head of the port, and Farid Usubov, the head of the Port Section of the Main Customs Department of Maritime Transport and Energy Resources, accused of cigarette smuggling worth 5 million, have appeared before the court again.
Medianews.az reports that the prosecutor requested an extension of the detention period of the accused persons.
The Binagadi District Court, considering the continuation of the preliminary investigation and the collection of additional evidence, approved the submission.
According to the decision, the detention period of Ruslan Eyyubov, Rashad Dashdemirov, and Farid Usubov has been extended for another 3 months.
It should be noted that the accused were arrested 5 months ago. The criminal case is being investigated by the Chief Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office.
