There is no need for any concern regarding the drones observed in the Baku sky during the night hours. Our people see drones in the Russia-Ukraine or Middle East wars on television and social networks, and therefore have become anxious about the situation. In principle, it is understandable since such a situation had not occurred before.
These words were said by military expert Uzeyir Jafarov in his statement to Axar.az while talking about the drones observed in the Baku sky.
According to him, the information provided by the Ministry of Defense clearly shows that this incident was carried out as an element of combat preparation:
"These were flights necessary for the Air Defense and Air Forces. These are not spontaneous, but planned flights. Because civil aircraft also take off and land during the night hours.
I believe that the anxiety arose because there has been no informational work carried out among the people regarding the known incidents occurring in the region. We are a country that has experienced war. Our people should be alert. The war is occurring in the south, while the drones are flying in the completely opposite direction – towards the north. Around the villages of Baku and the Baku surroundings. Such exercises happen both at night and during the day. They are not conducted whenever someone wishes, but are carried out in coordination with the relevant government and state agencies."
According to the expert, such exercises will continue in the future as well:
"I would like to particularly note that such exercises must be carried out at any time of day – night, day, in the wind, in the snow, and even under complex climatic conditions.
Therefore, our people should not write whatever comes to their minds on social networks. They must trust the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense. Because the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense is the institution that, together with other power structures, bears direct responsibility for the defense and security of the country."
It should be noted that the sounds of drones heard in the Baku sky around 01:00 on the night of March 16 had caused concern.
