Iran claims to have shot down an F-35: No confirmation from the USA - PHOTOS

Iran's state channel Press TV claimed that a US-owned F-35 fighter jet was shot down.

Medianews.az reports that the channel aired footage of the wreckage said to belong to it.

If confirmed, this could be recorded as the first case of an F-35 being shot down in combat.

According to the Iranian side's statement, the plane was destroyed by an air defense system in the central airspace of the country. It is reported that since the plane was completely destroyed, there is currently no information about the fate of the pilot.

The circulating footage is claimed to belong to the downed plane. It is also noted that this plane was affiliated with US forces at the Lakenheath airbase located in Great Britain.

According to experts, the F-35, known for its "stealth" technology, has not been shot down in combat before, and if this claim is confirmed, it could be considered an important event for military aviation.
