Armenian businessman and leader of the "Strong Armenia" party Samvel Karapetyan has filed a lawsuit against the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan.
Medianews.az reports that according to the claim published on the court acts portal "Datalex," Karapetyan demands a retraction of the false information tarnishing his honor and dignity that was addressed to him by the speaker, and compensation of 6 million drams (approximately 16 thousand US dollars) for moral damages.
According to the claim document, Karapetyan's defense side states that the statements made by Simonyan on social networks on May 19, 2026, are false and reputation-damaging and requests their official retraction. Additionally, the court costs are also demanded to be paid by the defendant.
It is noted that Karapetyan had previously applied to the court with similar claims against the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan's "Civil Contract" party and Public Television.//Bakıvaxtı.az
