The court investigation of Azer Baghirov, who was accused of treason in the form of espionage against the state, has been completed.
Medianews.az reports that the verdict was read at the last hearing held at the Baku Court for Serious Crimes.
According to the verdict, A. Baghirov was found guilty of the charge and sentenced to 16 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
It should be noted that Azer Baghirov was detained abroad by the Azerbaijan State Security Service and brought to our country.
During the court investigation, it was determined that A. Baghirov carried out espionage activities on the territory of another country on the instructions of representatives of a foreign special service agency, took photo-video recordings of areas where military and strategic objects are located, collected location information and transmitted it, and committed other related acts.
Also, this is not Azer Baghirov's first crime. He had previously served a sentence for an attempt to intentionally kill a person.
