Nearly 99 thousand students in Baku will be involved in the monitoring.

On June 5, monitoring will be organized for the IV grades of general education institutions in the capital, and on June 6 for the VI grades.

Medianews.az reports that this was stated by the Education Department of Baku City.

It was noted that the main purpose of conducting the monitoring is to achieve an improvement in student achievements, to determine at what level knowledge and skills are formed according to relevant standards, and to carry out measures aimed at increasing the quality of education.

The monitoring for IV grades will be conducted in the subjects of the language of instruction and mathematics, while for VI grades, the monitoring will be conducted in the subjects of the language of instruction, nature, and mathematics.

In the capital, more than 49 thousand IV grade students and more than 49 thousand VI grade students, including Azerbaijani and Russian sectors, will test their knowledge in 112 examination centers allocated for monitoring.

For IV grade students, 28 closed and 2 open written questions will be presented in the language of instruction subject; for mathematics, 25 closed, 3 open coding questions which do not require solving, and 2 open written questions requiring solutions will be presented. For VI grade students, 23 closed and 2 open written questions will be presented in the language of instruction subject; for nature, 25 closed questions; and for mathematics, 20 closed, 3 open coding questions which do not require solving, and 2 open written questions requiring solutions will be presented. IV grade students will be given 150 minutes to answer the questions, and VI grade students will be given 180 minutes to answer the questions.

The results of the monitoring will not affect the students' summative assessment scores nor their promotion from grade to grade.

It should be noted that a total of 7,344 students are expected to participate in the computer-based monitoring in institutions under the jurisdiction of the Education Department of Baku City.
