The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have struck one of Israel's most strategic facilities - the "Orot Rabin" ("Rabin's Lights") Thermal Power Station (TPS) - with a missile strike.

This was reported by "The Times of Israel".

The incident took place near the city of Hadera on the Mediterranean coast. According to the information, a strong explosion occurred in the area where the missile fell, creating a huge "mushroom"-shaped smoke cloud in the sky. According to preliminary assessments, although the infrastructure was directly targeted, the shell fell not in the very center of the station but nearby.

It should be noted that the "Orot Rabin" station supplies about 25 percent of Israel's total electricity. The missile strike has caused serious concerns regarding the country's energy security.

Currently, the damage to the station is being assessed. /publika.az
