How much did the war cost the USA? – INITIAL CALCULATION

The Iran war, which began on February 28 and was halted five weeks later with a ceasefire agreement, has caused damage to the US ranging from 22.3 billion dollars to 31 billion dollars.

Medianews.az reports that this calculation was made by Elaine Mckasker, who previously worked on budget issues at the Pentagon.

Although the calculation includes the costs of additional military forces and equipment sent by the US to the Middle East, it is stated that the full financial burden of the conflict has not yet been determined and the actual damage can be calculated more precisely later on.

According to the information, 13 US soldiers died in the war and at least 300 soldiers were injured.

One of the main points that experts draw attention to is Iran disabling the US's high-tech and expensive radar systems. This incident has also raised questions about Washington's military superiority. Analysts believe that such weaknesses could cause serious problems for the US in potential future conflicts with countries like China.

Significant damage has been recorded in terms of equipment and infrastructure as a result of the fighting. According to preliminary calculations, only the restoration and renewal of equipment will require funding from 2.1 billion to 3.6 billion dollars. Among the damaged military equipment, the name of the “USS Gerald R. Ford” aircraft carrier is also mentioned.
