In accordance with the military cooperation agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey, a flag changing ceremony of Azerbaijani and Turkish state flags was held in preparation for the joint "Heydar Aliyev-2026" exercise to be held in the city of Kars, Turkey.

The flag team, which started from the Headquarters of the Separate Combined Arms Army (SCA), began a march from the city of Nakhchivan towards the Sadarak border crossing point – the "Umid" bridge over the Araz river. At the same time, the Turkish flag team also marched from the city of Kars to the venue where the ceremony will take place.
After the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Turkey were performed at the "Umid" bridge, the flag changing ceremony took place. Then, at the event held on the occasion of dispatching the personnel and military equipment to be involved in the exercise to the training ground, SCA commander Lieutenant General Kenan Seyidov gave a speech, spoke about the importance of the joint military exercise, and wished success to the exercise participants.
After the event, the units to be involved in the exercise set out from the city of Nakhchivan.
It should be noted that the purpose of the exercise is to carry out experience exchange and increase the knowledge and skills of the personnel through planning and executing joint operations in accordance with modern warfare principles, organizing coordination, and comprehensive support of combat.
According to the exercise plan, combat under various conditions and the execution of special tasks will be conducted.
