US President Donald Trump gave a striking statement regarding his support in Israel while commenting on the agenda related to Iran. He claimed that his support in Israel is high, stating, "Maybe I could be a candidate for prime minister in Israel."
Medianews.az reports that he said this during a statement to journalists.
Trump stated that his support in Israel is at the "99 percent" level. In a speech interpreted as a joke or a political message, he also said that after his US presidency, he might go to Israel and run for the prime minister position.
Along with this, although Trump bases his claim on a survey, recent public opinion research conducted in the US has shown a different picture. According to a survey conducted by the Associated Press (AP) and NORC Public Affairs Research Center between May 14-18, Trump's overall support rating in the US was 37 percent.
The results of the survey showed especially that the vast majority of Democratic voters did not support Trump's presidency performance.
