The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has allowed water to be brought into stadiums in plastic containers during the 2026 World Cup (WC-2026).
Medianews.az reports that a statement has been released on the social media account of the supreme football organization regarding this matter.
"Fans will be able to bring water in a soft plastic bottle sealed with a cap, with a volume of 20 ounces (590 ml), to all matches of the World Cup to be held in the USA and Canada," FIFA stated.
It is noted that it will be possible to bring ordinary water bottles in the shown volume to the stands, but entry with hard plastic and reusable glass containers will be prohibited.
No information has been provided regarding which rules will apply at the matches in Mexico. According to the "Bloomberg" agency, certain legal issues need to be resolved in the country before implementing such rules.
On June 4, FIFA updated the entry rules for stadiums and banned bringing empty plastic bottles into the arena. The organization justified the new requirement with safety regulations.//Oxu.Az
