Renowned lawyer Anna Estevao will defend Venezuela's former President Nicolas Maduro in a New York court.
Medianews.az reports that this information was released by Qafqazinfo.
It is stated that in the notice submitted to the Southern District Court of New York, Estevao has officially joined Maduro's defense team.
It should be noted that A. Estevao was previously the lawyer of the famous rapper Sean John Combs, nicknamed "P. Diddy," who was accused of human trafficking. That court case ended with the rapper being acquitted.
Recall that on January 3, US military forces carried out large-scale strikes on 11 strategic targets in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and surrounding states. As a result of the operation, President Nicolas Maduro, along with his wife Cilia Flores, was captured and taken to New York. The former Venezuelan leader faces charges of narco-terrorism and drug trafficking. The next hearing in Maduro's court case will be held on June 30.
