Benjamin Addad, the French Minister for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, described the United States' attitude towards France as "far from friendship."
Medianews.az reports that he stated that the mocking remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump about the family life of French leader Emmanuel Macron are "extremely vulgar."
Nevertheless, the minister emphasized that Paris still considers Washington as an ally. According to him, Macron has had an open and constructive dialogue with the current U.S. leader since the first term of his presidency, and he is confident that these exchanges will continue.
The French side declared that despite tensions in relations with the U.S., strategic cooperation will be preserved.
