The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, is on a working visit to Turkey to participate in the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum at the invitation of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum has already become a serious platform not only for discussing regional but also global issues. The participation of our head of state in the forum shows the special importance that Azerbaijan attaches to this event.
Brotherly Turkey is one of Azerbaijan's main strategic partner countries. In 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 5 billion 720 million dollars. Azerbaijan has a positive balance of 1 billion 34 million dollars in mutual trade with Turkey. As seen, the trade turnover between the two countries is expressed in quite large figures. The goal is to increase the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey to 15 billion dollars.
11.6 percent of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover belongs to Turkey. This means that Turkey is the second largest trade partner after Italy. The brotherly country is also the second largest partner in Azerbaijan's exports: 13.5 percent. 16.5 percent of Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas exports are accounted for by Turkey. In this trade as well, Turkey is the second largest partner.
Economic relations are reflected not only in commercial connections but also in mutual investments. So far, Azerbaijan has invested more than 20 billion dollars in the Turkish economy, and Turkey has directed 18 billion dollars of investment to the Azerbaijani economy.
Mutual visits of heads of state further strengthen our strategic relations. The next visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Turkey will open a new page in the relations between the two countries.
