The court hearing of the criminal case against Araz Səmədov, who is accused of attempting to kill his 15-year-old sister's 30-year-old fiancé by stabbing, was held in Baku.
According to Unikal news, during the session held under the chairmanship of Judge Fəxri Məmmədov of the Baku Court for Serious Crimes, the defendant Araz Səmədov gave his free statement.
In his statement, Araz Səmədov said that the victim Babək Uğurlu was a close relative of his brother-in-law.
According to the defendant, on the day the incident occurred, Araz saw Babək next to his sister when he entered her room and became enraged. Because of this, he took a knife from the kitchen, lunged at him, and inflicted injuries with the knife.
During his statement, the defendant mentioned the names of "Mosson," "cin," and "şeytan" (invisible entities and sects), claiming that he obtained every piece of information through them.
The 30-year-old victim Babək Uğurlu said during his statement in court that he was engaged to Araz's underage sister.
"I was engaged to Araz's underage sister. We were waiting for the girl to turn 18 years old; we were going to get married. That night at 2 a.m., I was sitting and talking with my fiancée at their house. She was upset with me, and I wanted to make it up to her. Suddenly, Araz entered holding a knife, shouting 'you are a jinn, a devil,' rushed at me, and began stabbing me with the knife. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't take the knife from his hand. At that time, his sister was also injured. Blood was flowing from various parts of my body."
The next hearing is scheduled for April 7.
It should be noted that the incident took place in September 2025 in the Əmircan settlement of Baku.
