4 people have died, 4 people were injured

The number and identities of Azerbaijani citizens who were killed or injured on June 5 during drone attacks on the "Natra" and "Zirkon" cargo ships in the Azov Sea have been clarified.

Medianews.az reports that this information was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is reported that, according to updated information, out of a total of 25 Azerbaijani citizens, 4 were injured and 4 were killed. It was also determined that another person initially announced as deceased is not an Azerbaijani citizen nor of Azerbaijani origin but is a Russian citizen:

“The bodies of our deceased citizens, Ragheb Akhmedov born in 1976 and Mohammad Aliyev born in 1997, have been located, and measures are being taken to send the coffins back to our country. It should be noted that the other two deceased citizens were crew members of the "Zirkon" ship, which was held at the site of the strike due to the risk of explosion. Russian rescue teams are taking safety measures to bring the ship to the port. Precise information regarding the fate of these two citizens will only be possible after search operations are completed.

The injured who were admitted to the Yeysk city hospital, Samid Ibadzadeh born in 1998 and Rashad Madatkhanov, have already been discharged from the hospital. The conditions of Emin Valehov born in 2002 and Namig Jafarli born in 1999 are also good, and they will be discharged after completing their treatments.

Our embassy staff in Russia are in the area and taking measures to provide necessary support to our citizens. All our citizens have been accommodated in a hotel in Yeysk city and are in contact with their families. Citizens intending to return home who have lost their documents have been provided with the relevant return certificates.

We once again offer our deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased.”
