"If I were the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), I would consider my candidacy. However, I still have one year left on my contract, and then I will meet with Aurelio De Laurentiis. Let's not forget that in the last three months of last season it was also said that I would go to Juventus, or am I mistaken? It is normal for the media to include my name among the candidates. I have already worked with the national team, I am familiar with this environment. Representing the country is a matter of pride, but my current situation is clear. We have focused all our attention on Napoli, and I will meet with the president at the end of the season.
What saddens me is that if we had qualified for the World Cup, everyone would be talking about the rise and excellent condition of Italian football – I say this to help you understand how football is organized.
