Antonio Conte is the main candidate for the position of head coach of the Italy national team.
Medianews.az, citing "Report", states that the candidates for the presidency of the Italian Football Federation, Giovanni Malago and Giancarlo Abete, support the current "Napoli" coach’s return to the national team.
According to the source, Malago and Abete are considered the main contenders in the presidential race. Although some time ago rumors circulated that legends such as Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Del Piero, and Demetrio Albertini might also participate in the elections.
Currently, Roberto Mancini and Massimiliano Allegri are named as the main alternative options to Antonio Conte.
The new president of the Italian Football Federation will be elected on June 22. Therefore, the next two matches of the national team, to be held at the beginning of the month, will be conducted under the leadership of the expert serving as head coach.
It should be noted that Conte’s contract with "Napoli" is valid until June 2027.
