The use of the name "Artsakh" is a call to war - Pashinyan

The mention of "Artsakh" during religious ceremonies held in churches is a call to war and hinders the peace process with Azerbaijan.

According to Medianews.az citing Trend, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this to journalists during a briefing.

Pashinyan recalled that the war with Azerbaijan is over, and therefore there is no longer any "Karabakh movement." According to him, the mention of the name "Artsakh Republic" from any podium means "a road leading to war."

"Well, we understand, let's all start referring to the 'Artsakh Republic'; what does that mean? It means conflict. Any such expression means a call to war: today, tomorrow, some day, the day after—I don’t know, but it means a call to war," the Prime Minister of Armenia noted.

Let us remind that on August 8, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the United States Donald Trump, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in Washington.

On the same day in Washington, within the framework of the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the United States Donald Trump, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan initialed the draft "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia." They also signed a joint appeal of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia to the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office (on the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process, the personal representative of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office for the conflict discussed at the Minsk Conference, and the High-Level Planning Group). They signed the joint appeal of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia to the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office (on the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process, the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office's personal representative on the conflict discussed at the Minsk Conference, and the High-Level Planning Group).
