Since 1992, eight teams have conquered the top spot in Azerbaijan's national football championship.
Medianews.az states that "Qarabağ" (Ağdam) has been the national champion 12 times.
"Neftçi" (Baku) has won this title 9 times.
"Kəpəz" (Ganja) has been champion 3 times, "Şəmkir", "Baku", and "Inter" (currently "Şamaxı") 2 times each, and "Turan" (Tovuz) and "Xəzər Lənkəran" once each have earned the national champion title.
Medianews.az notes that the current top division (Misli Premier League) season 2025-2026 is ongoing.
So far, 16 of 33 rounds have been played.
"Sabah" (Baku) leads with 37 points.
"Qarabağ" has 36 points.
"Zirə" (Baku) has 28 points, "Turan Tovuz" and "Sumqayıt" have 27 points each, and "Araz-Nakhchivan" has 26 points.
"Şamaxı" and "Neftçi" have collected 20 points.
"İmişli" has 17, "Kəpəz" 11, "Qəbələ" 8, and "Karvan-Yevlax" 6 points.
