As is known, the day before yesterday, the State Examination Center (SEC) conducted an entrance exam for the I and IV specialty groups (including geography for those selecting both DT and TC subgroups under Group III).
So how do specialists assess the difficulty level of the questions after the exam? What predictions are there regarding the passing scores?
Medianews.az reports that educational specialist Elchin Efendi spoke to Musavat.com on the subject:
“After the exam the day before yesterday, we as education specialists conducted surveys among applicants both online and in person. Naturally, the vast majority of respondents stated that answering the exam questions was accessible. Only a few applicants mentioned encountering certain difficulties with the mathematics subject in the 1st specialty group. Regarding the 4th specialty group, some participants reported difficulties in the physics subject, while some faced certain problems with the biology subject. Of course, if we are trying to determine what general changes might occur in the results of the 1st and 4th specialty groups specifically, or if this issue is of interest to us, I should note that this was the first attempt exam so far. If we are to comment based on the results of the first attempt exam, I do not think a sharp decline in scores will occur here. Because in the graduation exam, applicants of both groups had achieved quite high results. Only in the humanities direction, certain weak results were observed due to the mathematics subject.”
The specialist also spoke about how the exam held the day before yesterday might affect the placement of applicants in relevant specialties or the formation of passing scores, stating that a significant drop in scores is not expected in some specialties:
“Only certain changes might occur in specialties with average indicators. Differences could be from a minimum of 5-10 points to a maximum of 20-25 points. Let me reiterate that we are only talking about the results of the first attempt exam. I do not think these changes will apply to all specialties. Such a situation might arise only in some specialties selected with average passing scores in previous years. However, naturally, there is also the second attempt exam ahead, and the second attempt exam significantly affects the overall statistical indicators every year. I think that after the second attempt, the overall situation and the landscape regarding passing scores might change to some extent.”
