Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev Traveling to China

The delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev went on a working visit to the city of Shanghai at the invitation of Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China.

Medianews.az, citing APA, reports that this was stated by the Prosecutor General's Office.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Prosecutor General and Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China.

Greeting the delegation, Ying noted that Azerbaijan and China are strategic partner states, emphasizing the continuation of successful cooperation covering many fields, and expressed satisfaction with the development of inter-institutional partnership relations. Ying Yong recalled previous visits of our country's delegation. The host also pointed out that the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters signed between our countries will deepen cooperation between the legal systems of our countries.

Kamran Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the reception and hospitality, noting that China has firmly supported our country's political initiatives over many years on various international platforms. In recent years, the mutual relations between our countries have developed along an upward trend, reaching the level of strategic partnership, as a result of the political will and efforts of the heads of state. President Ilham Aliyev's two visits to China last year, the regular meetings held between the parties, and the signing of the "Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China" last April by President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Xi Jinping, Chairman of the People's Republic of China, are clear examples of this.

As a logical continuation of this, strong cooperation relations have also been established between the prosecutorial bodies of both countries, and useful mutual exchange of experience has been carried out. For instance, a large delegation from China's Supreme People's Procuratorate participated in the International Association of Prosecutors General Conference and Annual Meeting held in Baku in 2024. At the same time, last year, a large delegation from the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in long-term training in China.

Furthermore, discussions were held on combating various forms of crime, practical cooperation issues, prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation, and involving prosecutorial staff in education at higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China, leading to agreements.

Kamran Aliyev also invited his counterpart to visit our country to strengthen mutual relations.

The delegation's visit continues, and a number of meetings are planned within the framework of the visit.
