On April 29, the thirteenth meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, and the Commission on the Delimitation and Border Security Issues between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held in Agvarend, Republic of Armenia.
It was noted with satisfaction that the 13th meeting of the commissions was once again held on the territory of one of the parties - in Agvarend, Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties engaged in detailed discussions on organizational and technical issues related to the implementation of delimitation measures.
The parties agreed upon and exchanged the texts of the following draft instructions regarding the procedure for the implementation of delimitation work:
• “Instruction on the working procedure of expert groups on delimitation during the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;
• “Instruction on the preparation of the delimitation map of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;
• “Instruction on the preparation and publication procedure of delimitation documents of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.”
The parties agreed to appeal to their respective governments for the appropriate approval of these instructions.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan exchanged views on issues of mutual interest separately.
It was noted that the transit of goods through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Armenia is being successfully carried out and continues at present.
It was emphasized with satisfaction that Azerbaijan’s supply of petroleum products to Armenia is an indicator of the formation of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Also discussed were the development of economic and trade cooperation, mutual supply of goods and services, as well as transit transportation issues with the participation of representatives of the parties’ business circles.
It was especially noted that the achievements were made possible thanks to the political will of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
A relevant Protocol on the results of the commissions’ meeting was signed.
The parties agreed to determine the date of the next meeting of the commissions in the Republic of Azerbaijan through working consultations.
