The POPULATION WAS WARNED - On these dates...

Several magnetic storms are expected on Earth in May this year due to increased solar activity. According to specialists' forecasts, the geomagnetic situation will be variable throughout the month, and strong effects will be observed on some days.

Medianews.az, citing Musavat.com, reports that according to research, the first days of the month will be relatively calm. Although the geomagnetic background will be stable from May 1–4, medium-level activity will be recorded on May 5–6. An increase will begin again on May 11, and between May 12–14 the situation will peak with strong magnetic storms occurring.

Although activity will gradually weaken in the following days, medium and strong storms are expected again on May 21–22. Particularly, May 22 is considered one of the most risky days. Towards the end of the month—May 28–30—geomagnetic field fluctuations will be observed again.

Experts state that magnetic storms occur as a result of energetic particles coming from the Sun affecting Earth's magnetic field. These events can affect communication and navigation systems, and can also cause weakness, headaches, and blood pressure changes in meteorologically sensitive people.

It is noted that although solar activity will generally be stable in 2026, geomagnetic disturbances are expected to continue. Experts recommend resting more on risky days, paying attention to sleep patterns, and avoiding stress.
