The age of maximum heart attack risk has been revealed.
Medicina.az reports that doctor of medical sciences and cardiologist Gülya Sharipova spoke about the age at which the risk of heart attack and stroke is highest.
According to Sharipova, the risk of heart attack is highest in people over 60-65 years old.
She noted that in this age group, cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of hospitalization and death:
"European guidelines set a separate scale for patients aged 70 and above so that even with the same risk factors, it reflects the fact that age alone significantly increases the likelihood of cardiovascular diseases."
At the same time, the doctor emphasized that young people are also at risk. She explained that in this age group, smokers as well as patients with diabetes and severe hypertension have a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.
