Five tanker aircraft belonging to the US Air Force were damaged as a result of a missile attack on the Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia by Iran.
The information was reported by "The Wall Street Journal" citing two US officials. According to the officials, the strike on the US aircraft located at the airbase occurred recently. Sources stated that the aircraft suffered significant damage but were not completely destroyed.
Technical service personnel are currently trying to repair the aircraft. No US military personnel were injured as a result of Iran's missile strikes.
The newspaper notes that since the beginning of the operation against Iran, the total number of US Air Force tanker aircraft damaged or destroyed has reached seven.
On March 12, two KC-135 tanker aircraft collided in western Iraq. One of them crashed, killing all six crew members. The second tanker, which had a damaged vertical stabilizer, managed to make an emergency landing.//Musavat.com
