Absurd demand from Yerevan – Amendment to the Kars Agreement, NEW land occupation...

It was expected. As critical parliamentary elections approach in Armenia, the voices of radical revanchists are being heard louder. These forces still believe that by exploiting the Turkish hatred and Turkish fear that manifest in public consciousness, they can achieve their ugly goals. This is yet another fact-proof.

Shahen Arutyunyan, chairman of the "Shant" election bloc representing the radical opposition camp, stated that it is necessary to reconsider the terms of the Kars Agreement. According to Arutyunyan, "it is no longer possible to live as before and to continue repeating mistakes (?! – Z.S.)."

According to him, the upcoming elections will determine whether Armenians can live in their homeland and set their future goals. "We are not here to make promises. Independence cannot be resolved through negotiations. It is the foundation of the state. It is time to raise the issue of reconsidering the terms of the Kars Agreement, which harms the interests of Armenia."

He then claimed that ignoring these issues would create future risks. "We are facing an election: what is more important, independence or false peace? Freedom or submission? Honor or arrogance? The time has come to stand up and fight," Arutyunyan declared...

Recall that alongside Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia, Armenia also signed the Kars Agreement dated October 13, 1921. The document, confirmed with Russia's participation, contains a special guarantee regarding Nakhchivan being an inseparable part of Azerbaijan. The Kars Agreement has no expiry date or termination period; in other words, it can only be revoked with the consent of all parties.

So why does the Armenian revanchist recall the document and try to scrutinize the agreement precisely now — on the eve of the June 7 parliamentary elections?

The answer to the question should actually be sought in Arutyunyan's words: "The elections will determine our future goals," "The time has come to stand up and fight."

"Future goal" obviously refers to the re-occupation of Azerbaijani territories, especially Karabakh. Unfortunately, there are still those in Armenia living with this fantasy, or more precisely, infected with the "miatsum" virus. Sadly again, the 44-day war did not serve as a lesson to many in the capitulated country...

Incidentally, the occupation of Azerbaijani lands until 2023 was also a direct and gross violation of the Kars Agreement. Baku ended it by force and brought the occupiers to the deserved punishment. Subsequently, a group of junta military criminals were tried and sentenced to long-term imprisonment in Baku.

The trial of Armenians continues PHOTO

In any case, such ridiculous statements coming from Yerevan once again underline the necessity for Azerbaijan to remain vigilant and maintain its overwhelming military superiority over Armenia. At the same time, it highlights the importance of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's peace agenda. Primarily for Armenian society. It doubles the value of Pashinyan's assertion that "if these adventurers come to power, war will become inevitable."

If they dare to speak ill of the Kars Agreement, imagine what they think about the peace agreement preliminarily signed between Baku and Yerevan. Not to mention the articles in the current constitution regarding territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Turkey.

There is no doubt that if these forces manage to overthrow Pashinyan, they will keep the current "war constitution" intact. This means that another and more painful "Iron Gate" will be needed. Therefore, let them hold the elections. On June 7, they will not only choose deputies but also determine whom to follow along with the deputies...
