During the armed attack at the school in Kahramanmaraş, eighth-grade student İsa Aras Mersinli killed 9 people and injured 20. Horrifying notes were found on his computer.
The student wrote those notes on April 11. In his notes, İ.A. Mersinli stated that he was preparing for something big:
“I am writing this on April 11, 2026. The moment you read this, I am either planning something big, have already executed my plan, or am about to execute it. I don’t know why, but I had many great advantages. I have always tried to mix with people, yet I still remained alone. I like that people recognize me and notice me. I want them to feel my existence in this world and the damage I cause. I want them to finally realize me.”
One of the interesting nuances in the notes was İsa Aras’s confessions about his family. He repeatedly complained about loneliness and even admitted that his family was afraid of him: “People suspect some things because of my situation, but this is definitely not related to loneliness. I am already alone. In fact, I am very alone. I almost have no friends. I have only 2 friends, and I don’t talk much with them. My family hates me. They are afraid of me, and they are even disappointed because of my existence.”
The criminal considered himself superior to everyone and emphasized that school taught him nothing: “I am a genius. I am better than everyone. I am the most superior person. I am loyal to myself. I am better now. I am intelligent. I have an IQ of 130. I have always gotten high grades without studying. I didn’t learn English at school. I didn’t speak it at home either. I only managed to speak fluently to myself over a few years. School taught me nothing. Learning by myself was faster.”
It should be recalled that before, İ.A. Mersinli’s messages on the messaging application “Discord” were revealed. In those messages, he also complained about loneliness, being alone, and not receiving attention. He even said that his father had tried to kill him by strangling him./Savashmedia.az
