Greece's legendary singer Marinella has died at the age of 87.

Marinella, the first artist to represent her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, left a deep mark on Greek music with a career spanning over 60 years.

The artist, who suffered a brain hemorrhage on stage in Athens in September 2024, underwent long-term treatment but could not recover.

Born in Thessaloniki in 1938, Marinella collaborated with many famous composers throughout her career and also achieved success on international stages.

Known for her powerful voice and stage performance, the artist will be remembered as a music icon in Greece./Milli.Az
