The car of the People’s Poet Səməd Vurğun, which had been kept unusable in a garage since 1975, was restored years later and brought to Baku.
Medianews.az reports, referring to ITV, that the car was restored dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Səməd Vurğun.
Ilham Pirməmmədov, a professor from Qazakh, stated that this issue was raised by Səməd Vurğun’s daughter-in-law Nüşabə Khanım: “I would never have thought that I could sit in the car that Səməd Vurğun bought in 1950 and was able to use for only 5 years. This will be one of the unforgettable days of my life. A few years ago, Səməd Vurğun’s daughter-in-law, the wife of Vagif Səmədoğlu, Nüşabə Khanım, raised the issue that the People’s poet once had a 'Pobeda' car and had left it in Georgia. After that, our ambassador in Georgia, Faiq Quliyev, got involved in the process.
It turned out that when Səməd Vurğun was in Georgia in 1955, feeling his illness, he gifted the car to his maternal cousin. After the poet’s death, this fact remained overlooked for many years. Səməd Vurğun’s name is also written in the car’s technical passport.”
It should be noted that the mentioned car will be given to the center located in the ADA building of the Qazakh branch of the Teachers Seminary where the poet studied.
