The World Resources Institute (WRI) based in the USA has published a frightening analysis covering 33 countries.
Medianews.az, citing Publika.az, reports that according to the analysis, some countries are predicted to face critical water crises by 2040.
It was stated that countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Palestine, Israel, and Saudi Arabia are regions where the risk will be most felt.
Also, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Singapore, Oman, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Jordan, Libya, Yemen, Macedonia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Armenia, Pakistan, Chile, Syria, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Afghanistan, Spain, and Tunisia are included in this high-risk group.
According to UNESCO data, currently 26 percent of the world population does not have access to safe drinking water.
