Within the investigation of "Illegal trafficking of narcotic substances," up to 10 years of imprisonment has been demanded for Ümit Karan, the former player of the Turkish national team and "Galatasaray" club, who was arrested.
Medianews.az, citing the DHA agency, reports that in the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office, the former forward is charged with "trade of narcotic substances."
The document states that Karan committed this crime in a "chain manner" by transferring the narcotic substances he obtained to others. The footballer denied all the charges brought against him.
Karan, whose detention measure continues, is expected to appear before the judge in the coming days.
