An armed incident near a school in Turkey's Diyarbakır province has caused serious concern.
Medianews.az reports that the incident was recorded in the Fabrika neighborhood of the Yenişehir district, in the area where a secondary school and a kindergarten are located.
An unknown person repeatedly fired at nearby objects and towards the school. The sounds of gunfire caused panic among the residents, and students and parents tried to leave the area in fear.
After receiving the information, numerous police forces were deployed to the scene. As a result of the rapid intervention of law enforcement agencies, the armed person was neutralized and detained in a short time.
The witness of the incident, Yunus Gençer, stated that the attacker first fired at the shops and then towards the school. According to him, the attacker used a pump-action hunting rifle, and people were forced to flee to save their lives.
