According to Lent.az, for the first time in Olympic history, a mother and son are competing in the same games. Mexican female skier Sarah Schleper, representing Mexico in Italy, participated in the alpine skiing competition yesterday.

In the women's alpine skiing race, Schleper finished 26th, trailing the winner by 7.96 seconds with a time of 1:31.37. Italian Federica Brignone won the gold medal with a time of 1:23.41. French Romane Miradolle was second with 1:23.82, and Austrian Cornelia Hütter was third with 1:23.93.

By competing together with her son in Milan-Cortina, Sarah Schleper not only made history but also set three more records. Schleper became the first athlete to participate in seven Winter Olympic Games in alpine skiing. She is also the first Mexican athlete to compete four times under the Mexican flag.

47-year-old Sarah Schleper became the oldest skier to participate in the Winter Olympic Games, surpassing Canadian Edvina Chamier, who competed in alpine skiing at age 45. Schleper's son Lasse Gaxiola will make his debut tomorrow in the giant slalom event.
