Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Kotsoyev advanced to the semifinals at the European Championship among seniors held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
According to Medianews.az, citing AZERTAC, the Olympic champion competing in the 100-kilogram weight category defeated Hungarian Zsombor Veg in the quarterfinals.
Madina Khaisinova (+78 kilograms) and Kenan Nasibov (+100 kilograms), who joined the competition today, finished without medals.
It should be noted that earlier Hidayat Heydarov (73 kilograms) won silver, while Zelim Tchkayev (81 kilograms), Ahmad Yusifov (60 kilograms), and Turan Bayramov (66 kilograms) took bronze medals. The tournament will conclude today.
