Ramadan holiday is celebrated in Azerbaijan on March 20.
"Report" reminds that the sacred Ramadan holiday has been celebrated by Muslims since the second year (622) of the Hijri calendar.
The month of Ramadan teaches people to love God, gives them the opportunity to test their willpower and patience, directs people to be open-minded and have a pure conscience, and these are expressed through fasting.
Fasting begins in its history when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spent the month of Ramadan in Medina for this purpose. It was on one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan that the "Quran" was revealed.
Ramadan holiday has been celebrated at the state level in Azerbaijan since 1993.
It should be recalled that this year the month of Ramadan started in Azerbaijan on February 19. According to the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, March 20 and 21 are celebrated as Ramadan holidays in Azerbaijan.
