Construction of the new airport near Ələt settlement and Baku International Sea Trade Port is ongoing.
This airport will differ from other airports. Namely, it will mainly handle cargo transportation.
The new airport will play an important role in delivering cargo transported via the Middle Corridor and Zangezur corridor to destinations in a more efficient and agile manner.
The airport will ensure the delivery of high-value and time-sensitive shipments to their destinations in a short time.
Additionally, it will contribute to the expansion of export opportunities for enterprises operating in the Ələt Free Economic Zone.
The new airport will increase Azerbaijan's competitiveness as a regional logistics center and will create additional infrastructure advantages for investors.
The first cargo airport is planned to be put into operation next year.
