The name of US President Donald Trump has been removed from the facade of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, half a year after being installed there.
The "Reuters" agency reported on this.
It was stated that this step was taken based on the court’s decision that the name of the Performing Arts Center cannot be changed without a corresponding law from Congress.
Workers installed construction equipment on Friday evening, and on the night of June 13, the letters on the facade were removed in about 30 minutes.
The Board of Directors of the Center, led by Trump, voted last December to change the name of the facility to the "Donald Trump and John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Memorial Center."
At the end of May, the Washington court prohibited the White House leader from changing the name of the complex. The court also ordered the removal of Trump’s name from the name of the cultural institution, from the facade, and from all physical as well as digital signs. /publika.az
