Yanis Klüge, a researcher at the German Institute for International Security Affairs and a military expert, has revealed a frightening financial picture based on official figures through his calculations.

According to the expert’s research, Russia spends a record amount on the war in Ukraine every day – 65 billion rubles (approximately 897 million dollars), and about 2.7 billion rubles (approximately 37.2 million dollars) every hour.

The information emphasizes that in the first quarter of 2026, the Kremlin’s military expenditures increased unimaginably to 5.9 trillion rubles (approximately 81.4 billion dollars), proving that every second ruble from the state budget goes precisely to the war.

Compared to the first quarter of 2022 when the war started, current expenses have increased exactly 4.6 times. The daily amount of 65 billion rubles that Russia spends on the battlefield can be compared with the annual budgets of some entire regions of the country, for example, the annual budget of Novgorod which is 69 billion rubles or Oryol region which is 61 billion rubles./Musavat.com
