Azerbaijan's foreign trade in the first quarter – Official

In the first quarter of 2026, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 157 countries, with exports exceeding 5.4 billion dollars and imports exceeding 4 billion dollars. The report published by the State Customs Committee shows that among the top ten trading partners are Italy, Turkey, China, Russia, the USA, Germany, Georgia, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Medianews.az reports that according to statistics, 7.21 percent of exports were directed to CIS countries, 65.53 percent to European Union countries, and 27.26 percent to other countries. Regarding imports, the share of the CIS was 20.36 percent, the European Union's share was 14.09 percent, and other countries' share was 65.55 percent.

The trade turnover with neighboring countries was formalized as follows:

Armenia - 5.7 million dollars export, 0.96 thousand dollars import;

Georgia - 235 million dollars export, 29.6 million dollars import;

Russia - 223.7 million dollars export, 523 million dollars import;

Iran - 2.8 million dollars export, 166.6 million dollars import;

Turkey - 785.9 million dollars export, 522.9 million dollars import;

Kazakhstan - 32 million dollars export, 57.9 million dollars import;

Turkmenistan - 10.3 million dollars export, 10.6 million dollars import.

4.5 billion dollars of exports were attributed to the oil and gas sector.

The top position in imports was held by machines, mechanisms, electrical appliances, equipment, and their parts: 970.5 million dollars.
