The Prosecutor General's Office has issued a new statement regarding the explosion at the National Oncology Center.
Medianews.az reports that the statement says:
“The doctor-radiologist of the Radiation Therapy Department of the medical institution who suffered severe injuries in the explosion, Asif Nasirli, passed away on May 5 at 21:45 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
We express our deep condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and wish them patience.
The preliminary investigation into the criminal case initiated at the Yasamal District Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident continues.
We kindly ask social network users and media representatives to refer only to official sources when sharing information related to the mentioned incident and to avoid publicizing information without verifying its accuracy with the relevant state authorities. We particularly emphasize that protecting information constituting the investigation secret and preventing its dissemination, as well as respecting the rights and legal interests of participants in criminal prosecution, are fundamental legal and ethical requirements of the law and professional information exchange.
In this regard, refraining from spreading unverified, distorted, or false information, as well as rumor-like posts that may cause confusion and unjustified concern in society, is of significant importance to enable the uninterrupted continuation of procedural measures carried out by law enforcement agencies.”
