“Cinema loves close-ups. It should clearly show even the wrinkles on the actor's face and forehead. I was tested in a film. They shot a 10-15 minute scene. Then I saw the director and the cameraman whispering something. They were saying, ‘As talented as he is, his face is like Mosho’s.’ Of course, they could have changed something with a beard, mustache, or makeup, but not every director wants that. In modern cinema, they don’t pay much attention to this.”
This was said by People's Artist Valeh Karimov in an interview with Medianews.az.

He later spoke about the play “Bəxt üzüyü” that made him beloved by the audience: “You know, ‘Bəxt üzüyü’ was first performed as a play at the Sumgait State Drama Theater. One day, it happened that they said there was a jubilee of a famous intellectual, a scholar. Initially, they thought of using a part of the scene with Seda and Mosho. At that time, we performed those scenes in many places. During one rehearsal, they said, ‘Valeh teacher, we will remove this scene.’ When I asked why, they said, ‘It’s not appropriate; scholars come and sit, it is a funny and somewhat revealing scene.’ I said I didn’t understand, shouldn’t a scholar not laugh? Should he always cry? Should he be sad? Vagif Samedoglu’s jubilee was held at the Academic National Drama Theater. There, they had again put in that part. Until the moment we went on stage, all the audience sat in sadness and sorrow. Because teacher Vagif was ill... It was the last days of his life. Every 5-10 minutes, he would go outside to the hallway, they would give him an injection, then he would return to his seat. Everyone knew that this man wouldn’t be here tomorrow or one day soon... We performed that scene at the jubilee. The mood and attitude in the hall completely changed... Sometimes we do not appreciate that moment. The playwright wrote a tragedy and a drama as well.”
Valeh Karimov wants the play “Bəxt üzüyü” to be organized at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. “Producing the play is a very difficult process. Most of those actors are alive. We have, after all, aged... Mrs. Afaq has difficulties walking, her health is not very good. I would like this work to be revived not in a theater but at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. It is also a rule in world practice that stage versions of very famous films are prepared. If the ‘Bəxt üzüyü’ work were restored at the palace, the organizers would earn millions from it. Perhaps 90 percent of that troupe is alive. It would be a very big and loud event. Unfortunately, we do not have managers like that,” said the People's Artist.
