The annual session of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China will be held next week.

Medianews.az reports that on the eve of the session, 19 deputies holding important positions were deprived of their mandates. Nine of them are high-ranking military officers. Among them are the commander of the Ground Forces and other generals who were recently removed from leadership positions in the army.
Decisions to deprive deputies of their mandates were made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. There is no doubt that behind this decision stands Xi Jinping, the president of the People's Republic of China, who has been making personnel changes in the military leadership since the end of last year.
