It has been noted that hand antiseptics (alcohol-based solutions) can be used as an alternative when soap and water are not available; however, when visible dirt is present, washing remains the primary method.
Regarding personal protective equipment, it is important to select masks, gloves, aprons, and protective clothing appropriately according to the situation and to put them on and take them off correctly. The mask must fully cover the mouth and nose, and gloves should be discarded immediately after use and not reused.
Experts emphasize that using protective equipment alone is not sufficient; they must always be used together with hand hygiene and general sanitation rules.
According to specialists, when these rules are properly followed, both the individual risk of infection decreases and an important contribution is made to protecting public health.
